Meet Cassandra  (she/her)

Smiling woman with long dark hair and a green shirt, wearing hoop earrings and a pendant necklace.

With 5+ years of experience in community mental health, residential treatment, school-based therapy, substance use counseling, and medication-assisted treatment, I've seen the value in holistic approaches to recovery. I believe in the importance of humanity to nurture growth. Sharing your story can be intimidating, but I am honored to support you through hardship. In therapy, we reflect on our individual identities as well as our environments as methods of healing. I enjoy working with individuals finding their place in life and managing stress from adolescence through adulthood. This may include self-esteem issues, challenges with communication, difficulty managing emotions, navigating traumatic experiences, and much more.

Utilizing person-centered and trauma-informed approaches, I see you as a whole human who has fought battles to arrive where they are today. I believe that the connection between client and therapist is the most important factor toward healing and I encourage my clients to bring any personal worries to session as we collaborate to navigate their stressors. I want my clients to know that I will focus on their strengths and celebrate the wins while also being there through the challenges to support their growth. Ultimately, I strive to empower individuals to honor their uniqueness through effective coping, self-acceptance, and the ability to intentionally create a future more aligned with their values.

Additionally, I take a laid-back approach to cognitive behavioral therapy where we learn more about you as a whole and explore how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors shape our perspectives toward life. I believe that knowledge is power; the more we know ourselves, the more control and intention we have in our day-to-day experiences. This may look like acknowledging emotional triggers and finding effective coping skills that work for you. As a registered art therapist, I know the importance of creativity and self-expression when fostering mental wellness. Maybe therapy is the space where you simply need to say things out loud that have been too difficult to share with others, or perhaps we find ourselves creating an abstract painting as we learn to calm anxiety or writing a poem surrounding the sense of self we imagine internally. We will work together to explore solutions to a happier, healthier life for you.

If we seem like a good fit, I'm ready to embark on a journey toward healing as soon as you are.
